Irish Water are holding the meeting which will take place today, Monday June 25, in Aislann Cill Chartha from 5.30pm – 7.30pm.

The public are being invited along to meet the project team and learn more about Irish Water’s plans to progress the Kilcar Sewerage System.

Irish Water is holding an information evening at the Aislann Centre, Kilcar, next Monday, June 25th to present plans for the Kilcar Sewerage Scheme.

The utility say that it’s working to end the discharging of untreated wastewater into Tawny Bay by developing a new wastewater treatment plant as part of the Kilcar Sewerage Scheme.

Irish Water says the new wastewater treatment plant will bring benefits to Kilcar in terms of health, integrity of the environment and improved water quality as the practice of discharging untreated wastewater into Tawny Bay is deemed unsustainable.

As part of the plans, new pipes, pumping station and wastewater treatment plant will be sized to accommodate an increase in the local population and to facilitate future growth in the area as well as ensuring water quality standards set down by regulatory bodies be achieved.
